"The Words of the Lord are pure Words: as silver tried in a furnace
of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them
from this generation for ever." (Psalm 12:6-7)
Come to Elkton, MD July 19 - 20 for
DBS Annual Meeting
Our host for this year, Dr. Allen P. Dickerson (Chancellor of
the Maryland Baptist Bible College and Pastor of the Maranatha Baptist Church)
has graciously invited our DEAN BURGON SOCIETY to his church in Elkton, MD, for
our 22nd annual meeting. Can you come and be with us? The
Maranatha Baptist Church is located at 3141 Old Elk Neck Road, Box 246, Elkton,
Maryland. The phone number is 410-398-3764. Call Dr. Dickerson if
you need further instructions or details.
As we mentioned in our last, D.B.S. News, out of respect,
please observe the church's DRESS CODE: Ladies wear respectable skirts or
dresses (no slacks). No shorts for men or women at our meetings.
The dates for our 22nd annual meeting of our DEAN BURGON SOCIETY have been
set for Wednesday and Thursday, July 19-20, 2000. We hope you can set
aside these dates for this July and join us at the Maranatha Baptist Church in
Elkton, Maryland. Pastor Dickerson estimated the seating capacity of his
church at about 450. There's room for you. Come and be with us!
Dr. Dickerson has said that he would be happy to put all of
our messages on his WOEL radio station. This is indeed a most generous
gift to our Dean Burgon Society ministry. Once before we had some of our
evening messages covered on the air, but never in 22 years have ALL of the
messages been aired. We thank Dr. Dickerson and his staff in advance for
this generous gift. It should make our men even more on their toes
than usual.
We are thankful to Dr. Bob Barnett, one of our DBS Vice
Presidents, for his good work in contacting our speakers for their availability
and subjects. Here are the speakers, the topics, and the times.

Our host, Maranatha Baptist Church, has offered to prepare
meals for our Dean Burgon Society attenders on a freewill offering
basis. The baskets will be out at the beginning of the food line. We
believe our people will be more than generous in offsetting these
expenses. We are grateful to the church for providing this for us. On Wednesday, the church will serve two meals:
lunch and supper. On
Thursday, they'll serve three meals-- breakfast, lunch and supper meals.
You can receive a list of the motels available in the area by calling
